Principal SDET

Realtime recruitment are seeking a skilled Principal SDET on behalf of a global leader in the Payments industry.
As a Principal SDET, you will be responsible for creating innovative approaches, techniques, and solutions across domains such as Automation, Performance Engineering, Continuous Testing, Continuous Delivery, Service Virtualization, Shift Left, Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), and Test-Driven Development (TDD).

  • Evaluating manual testing processes within systems and pinpointing opportunities for time and effort reduction by prioritizing Automation as a core strategy.
  • Conducting regular meetings with Engineering leadership to present metrics and engage in discussions regarding software automation, quality, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), and security for our current applications.
  • Actively participating in test planning dialogues to ensure the enhancement of automation coverage over time.
  • Serving as a technical advocate in addressing complexities associated with delivering a comprehensive, automated provisioning toolchain that supports a Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment model.
  • Providing technical leadership across all aspects of software testing methodologies, test automation strategies and planning, test processes, and the tracking of performance metrics.
  • Effectively communicating strategies to the engineering team in a manner that resonates with them.
  • 7+ years' experience in a SDET role
  • Proficiency in utilizing tools, frameworks, and programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, Cucumber, Mocha, JMeter, Jenkins, GIT, Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, SoapUI, REST Assured, TFS, New Relic, and others.
  • Previous hands-on experience in implementing automation frameworks for front-end, back-end, and REST API services/applications.
  • Extensive experience with CI/CD processes, tools, and platforms.
  • 7+ years of experience working with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) databases and associated tools.
  • Profound testing experience, underpinned by a strong foundation in Software Quality Assurance.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing maintainable testing solutions tailored to complex, large-scale, distributed environments, encompassing both functional and non-functional testing.
