Lead Technical Writer Up to 70k

Your New Company :
This is your chance to join one of the worlds largest payments firms, awarded and commended for their environmental efforts, technological innovations, and entrepreneurialism. They have been in Northern Ireland for a while now but are growing rapidly and are currently seeking an exceptional Lead Technical Writer to join their team.

Your New Role:
  • You will be responsible for all technical documentation, ensuring on time delivery and excellent quality
  • Work cross-functionally with developers and the Product team, asking the right questions to gain a broad understanding of the features and functions of products and services
  • Produce engaging and straightforward documentation, including, user guides, installations manuals, and integration guides for customers
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and SMEs to ensure the smooth production of documentation
  • Editing and reviewing work completed by other team members
  • Coaching members of the team, developing their skills and knowledge
  • Instilling processes and systems to establish standardisation and consistency across the technical writing team

Your Skills + Experience:
The Lead Technical Writer will have several years' experience working in a similar role, and ability to instil a system of best practices among more junior team members.
Specifically:
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience of large projects with multiple team members, sources, and deliverables
  • Experience with a range of media including product manuals, policy and compliance documents, API documents, internal knowledge sharing documents, and help/guidance articles
  • Proven ability to establish standards and process for the creation, management, and organisation of documentation
  • Strong experience of lean delivery of technical documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to produce technical documentation for hardware, software, and APIs
  • Strong knowledge of industry style guides
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and coaching technical writing teams
  • Strong understanding of XML, CSS, and HTML
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and management skills
  • Solid knowledge of Content Management Systems, FrameMaker, and Creative Cloud
  • Experience with WordPress is highly desired
