Excited to share a BRAND NEW opportunity to the market. Our client is probably the most unique Tech ScaleUp we've ever worked with. They are building a fantastic software engineering Centre of Excellence in Belfast and YOU could be their first Engineering Manager. I guarantee you've never worked in such an interesting domain. Their client list is just as impressive, including FAANG brands and high-profile public figures.

The Engineering Manager Role:
From day 1, the Engineering Manager will take up a player/coach role in the Software Engineering team. You will join a small team of 3 / 4 engineers working in Python / React / AWS and split your time between management (70%) and coding (30%). You will partner with a Belfast-based Architect and work cross-functionally with Scrum Masters and Program Managers to deliver cutting edge software that facilitates truly meaningful work.

You are the team's 'line manager', and will help them with any technical and personal issues. You will help them to develop their skills and careers. Other tasks include;
-Backlog refinement
-Sprint planning
-Translating business/customer requirements into work
-Product / Technical Roadmapping
-CV Shortlisting / Interviews

Engineering Manager skills:
The Engineering Manager will come from a Software Engineering background (ideally with some exposure to Python) and have at least 1-2 years 'line managing' or leading a team. You will have stories to tell about 'HR issues' that you have encountered as a leader, and how you have had a positive impact on teams. Ideally, you are a player-coach with long-term aspirations to move into a servant/leader position. You are flexible, with a 'no job too small' mentality – and have the tenacity to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

The Benefits
This is a genuinely unique opportunity that won't be replicated in the market. The Belfast team is set to more than triple this year – with an ambitious roadmap beyond that. You will set the standards for culture, working practices and career development for talented developers in Belfast. As you grow the team, you will transition 'off the tools' and into a servant/leader role. You will earn £100-120k depending on experience.
