Josie Hayward

Meet our Realtimer Josie Hayward! 👋 Josie Hayward is our Senior IT Recruitment consultant in Dublin.

What do you do in Realtime?

I work in the Contracts Team here at Realtime (otherwise known as ‘the dark side’) and I specialise in placing Product Owners, Business Analysts and Testers.

Can you tell us a fun fact about yourself?

I absolutely love swimming, so I spent the summer in Greece whilst I was at Uni working at a turtle conservation centre. However, I would advise not following a turtle for miles into the sea and realising you have to swim all the way back!!

Can you describe your career journey so far?

I started off by studying Psychology at the University of Chester, which I absolutely loved. I always knew I had a passion for working with people, so I started a graduate program that led me to become an Account Manager and Business Development Executive at a tech company in Birmingham. I then made the decision to move to the Emerald Isle and was lucky enough to get a role at Realtime, and I’ve not looked back since!

What is the best thing about working at Realtime?

The opportunity to really control your own destiny, Realtime provides all the tools and support you could possibly need to flourish in recruitment, with a little humour along the way!

What is one piece of career advice you could give?

Don’t worry if you don’t know what you want to do long-term in your career, put your head down and work as hard as you can at everything you do and you never know where you might end up!

How do you stay motivated?

Short-term, achievable goals are the easiest way for me to stay motivated. It’s great to have a long-term goal like wanting to be the top biller for this year, but in order to achieve that I create short-term goals that I can work towards and tick off along the way (for example, hitting my CV target for the week). The most important thing I would say for staying motivated is to reward yourself for achieving the small wins – work can be hard enough as it is, so make sure to celebrate all the small victories!
