Senior DBA (Oracle/ PostgreSQL & AWS)

Daily Rate Contract

Dublin – Hybrid – 2 days onsite a week

Realtime has partnered with a client that is looking for an experienced Database Administrator that has strong exposure to Oracle, PostgreSQL & AWS.

Responsibilities:

• Administer Oracle 19c and PostgreSQL 17 databases across AWS environments, keeping them fast, secure and highly available.
• Own installs, upgrades, patching and performance tuning.
• Lead production incident response, including root cause analysis.
• Design and run backup, recovery, replication and DR solutions.
• Monitor via CloudWatch, Oracle OEM and Foglight.
• Automate routine DBA work with Python, PowerShell, Terraform and Ansible.
• Work with DevOps and development teams on database deployments and CI/CD.
• Join an occasional on-call rota and support weekend deployments.

Experience Required:

• 10+ years’ hands-on DBA experience.
• Deep knowledge of Oracle 19c and PostgreSQL 17
• AWS experience (RDS, Aurora, EC2).
• Advanced SQL tuning, indexing and query optimisation.
• Oracle RMAN, AWS Backup and high-availability experience.
• Strong production support, incident management and RCA background.
• Scripting, automation and DevOps tooling knowledge.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
• AWS or Oracle certifications are beneficial
• Experience in client facing roles
