Realtime are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Architect with deep expertise in banking systems and enterprise architecture to lead the design and implementation of robust technology solutions that support business transformation initiatives.

This is a daily rate contract based in South Dublin (Hybrid).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end architecture design for large-scale banking platforms including core banking, digital channels, payments, and risk management systems.
• Align architectural solutions with business goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across business, technology, operations, and risk to define solution roadmaps.
• Provide technical leadership across development teams, ensuring scalability, security, and performance of systems.
• Develop and maintain architecture documentation, standards, and governance frameworks.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and provide strategic recommendations for adoption.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy, cybersecurity, and financial regulations (e.g., PSD2, PCI DSS, GDPR).
• Mentor junior architects and contribute to a culture of engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in a senior architecture role within the banking or financial services sector.
• Proven experience designing and delivering solutions for core banking, digital banking, payments, or trading systems.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), microservices architecture, API management, and DevOps practices.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Certifications such as TOGAF, AWS/Azure Solution Architect, or similar are a plus.
