What do you do in Realtime?

I work on the Infrastructure and Support Desk here – Perm market.

Can you tell us a fun fact about yourself?

I don’t like tomato ketchup. A lot of people find that very weird.

Can you describe your career journey so far?

Pre recruitment I was 15 years in Retail, progressing to Management in multiple companies – Last year I made the move to IT Recruitment and haven’t looked back. The hardest but most rewarding role I have had to date bar none.

What is the best thing about working at Realtime?

The team and culture are amazing. Never worked anywhere like it for the support and guidance. A lot of companies preach about culture and the environment, but few back it up. Realtime is one of those few!

What is one piece of career advice you could give?

Work hard every day, at whatever it is you are doing, push yourself out of your comfort zone and don’t stop when you get a knockback. Refocus and find the determination to succeed.

Advice for someone who wants to work in recruitment?

Find a company with a good culture and philosophy – Prove your worth and value in the interviews and keep pushing forward once you’re in the door. Recruitment is a job that has a diverse mix of required skills and competencies. There are a lot of elements which are transferrable from other industries.

How do you stay motivated?

Motivation is the key. It’s something that comes and goes on a regular basis. Staying focused on your goals and remembering why you are doing it in the first place will keep you on track and moving forward. It’s hard to stay motivated but it’s even harder to succeed.
