I specialise in Data Engineering/Science and Analysis.

Can you tell us a fun fact about yourself?

I did not own a passport until my late 20s. Within 6 months of acquiring it, I went on 3 trips abroad. I now really value travelling and meeting new people

Can you describe your career journey so far?

I started my recruitment career later in life, raising my family 1^st. I began my corporate career in Advertising Sales in 2017, which lead me into recruitment. I began my recruitment career in the UK contingent market, predominately working with Banking and Financial clients. I then pivoted into the US market, specialising in financial institutions, covering high-volume and compliance. I soon developed a passion for Technical roles and enjoyed the conversations I was having.

In 2021, during the height of the pandemic, I joined Realtime Recruitment to assist with the implementation of our US division. Within 11 months I was promoted to Senior Consultant. I cover all things Data on our US side, and love every minute of every day!

What is the best thing about working at Realtime?

There are many amazing components to working at Realtime, though I particularly enjoy the autonomy offered. The trust you are given to manage your own specialised desk, make your own decision and proceed how you see fit is very rewarding and creates a real sense of confidence and accomplishment.

What is one piece of career advice you could give?

Be Brave! Take that leap, step out of your comfort zone and accept the job offer you are not sure you can live up to and show up every day – You will surprise yourself!

What inspires you to come in (or log on) everyday?

My Passion for doing a great job! I thrive on helping our Clients achieve their goals in less time and connecting them to great Data professionals who are seeking better opportunities.  Especially in these times. I get immense satisfaction from matching great individuals who are either between roles or in a toxic and unhappy environment to better opportunities. I pride myself on only working with amazing clients and candidates, ensuring I’m making a positive difference to everyone I work with.

Advice for someone who wants to work in recruitment?

If you are a people person, who likes to make a difference, someone who likes to take a problem, and offer solutions – This is a great career opportunity!

The best advice I can give you is to be bold! Apply to any recruitment opportunities you see, in reputable companies and jump in feet 1^st. You may not know everything right away, but be curious, ask as many questions as you can and if you have the right attitude, you will be an asset to the industry.  Mindset is of the utmost importance! You are a people helper, a problem solver and a consultant to many skilled and busy professionals. Show up always, and remember you are helping!
