Senior System Administrator

Realtime recruitment is looking System Administrator to maintain, upgrade and manage our software, hardware and networks. Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, maintain and upgrade software and hardware, manage virtual servers, technology tools, and integrate automation processes
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, outages and errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritising problems, and assessing impact of issues
  • Set up accounts and workstations. Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
  • Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
  • Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
  • Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance
  • Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
  • Build internal documentation, manuals and IT policies and technical specifications for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
  • Continuously improve and keep up with the IT business needs of the company
  • Participate in research and development to actively resolve problems and issues with computer and server systems to limit work disruptions within the company
  • Any other role / responsibility expansion related to technology implementation and maintenance that may be added as required

Specific Project Implementation
  • Plan, coordinate, lead, and complete tasks for a bespoke application including implementations and BAU configuration and development when system is live.
  • Lead and manage various work streams of varying complexity involved in the active migration of data points from one software platform to another, including migration, validation, hyper care.
  • Gather requirements for data conversions and assist end users with preparing for accurate data uploads
  • Assist in the development of necessary process designs/documents to draft business requirements if required
  • Support system end user acceptance testing and rollout activities as necessary
  • Support software product customisation based on user requirements
  • Work with business units to develop training procedures, documentation, and end user support
  • Provide support by researching, analysing and resolving software issues
  • Prepare documentation to support system administrative functions and procedures
  • Identify process and system improvements and implement solutions to improve efficiency and internal customer satisfaction
  • Installing and maintaining newly released builds, updates, and patches
  • Running queries in Azure SQL DB tables, when needed
Job Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with software service provider organisation or on client role in similar capacity, for implementation of automation and software integration for Accounting, Finance or Facility & Property Management Services
  • Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
  • SQL Server Admin required
  • Azure SQL DB experience a distinct advantage
